January 18, 2008 Special Meeting Minutes

On Friday, January 18, 2008, the Council of the Rural Municipality of Gilbert Plains met at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Rural Municipality of Gilbert Plains municipal office.

1} Call meeting to order
Resolution #17-08 Safronetz/Basaraba
Be it resolved that Reeve Malowski calls this special meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. Carried.

2} Adoption of Agenda.
Resolution #18-08 Michaluk /Bates
Be it resolved that Council adopts the agenda of this special meeting as amended. Carried.

3} Business
In response to the January 18, 2008 deadline imposed by Dick Menon, Manitoba Water Services Board, presented in his letter of December 17, 2007, Council contacted Mr. Menon to discuss the water co-op proposal in further detail. Mr. Menon was unavailable to answer any questions at the time but agreed to be available via conference call on Tuesday January 22, 2008 at 8:30 a.m.

Council agreed to request a member of Town Council attend the next council meeting, at 10:00 a.m. to discuss options for negotiating an agreement between the Town and RM of Gilbert Plains and the Town’s position regarding the regional co-op concept.

Discussion regarding a boardroom table was tabled to next meeting.
